The Empire Wind Ensemble will conclude their third season with “Stars & Stripes (And a Little Bit of Polka),” a concert of music by American composers, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 at First Congregational Church of Redlands, 2 West Olive Avenue.
This event is free of charge and family friendly. No tickets are necessary.
The performance will include a medley of movie music by John Williams, “Pie in the Face Polka” by Henry Mancini, and Frank Ticheli’s rendition of “Shenandoah.” The ensemble will also perform American patriotic classics such as “Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa and “America, the Beautiful” arranged by Carmen Dragon.
The Empire Wind Ensemble was formed to provide an opportunity for lifelong musical expression and enjoyment, to promote artistic enrichment in the Inland Empire, and to preserve the rich repertoire and cultural history of the wind band. Approximately 35 Inland Empire musicians will play in the concert.
